The ex Blizzard veterans at Red 5 Studios have licensed the Offset Engine for an upcoming next-generation MMO. The technology should enable Red 5 to create impressive worlds while reducing time and cost.

"The Offset Engine bridges the gap in quality between real-time and pre-rendered graphics. Using revolutionary technology which combines effects elements with unified lighting, shading, and shadowing, the Offset Engine is quickly becoming a top choice among developers of next gen games," Red 5 said in a statement.

"Offset Software's next generation graphics are simply stunning," commented Mark Kern, President and CEO of Red 5 Studios. "And Offset's content creation tools will enable Red 5 Studios to add real-time cinematic quality to our game world."
