 Earthlink's city-wide Wi-Fi ambitions fade into thin air

Earthlink?s plans for municipal Wi-Fi have gone sour. Two of its three deals are dead, and the third is turning sour.

A day after dismissing half its staff to cut costs, Earthlink withdrew from a plan that also included Google to provide San Francisco with wireless connectivity. Chicago and Houston are also dead in the water.
