(Press Release) Xsens Technologies, creator of Moven, a leading camera-less motion capture solution, has announced that Sony Picture Imageworks and independent console videogames developer Insomniac Games are new customers of the technology. Moven has at the same time been renamed for branding, as Xsens MVN.

Both Sony Pictures Imageworks (Watchmen, Valkyrie, Eagle Eye a.o) and Insomniac Games (Spyro the Dragon?, Resistance?, Ratchet & Clank? a.o.) will be using Xsens MVN for the production of their upcoming film and game titles. The MVN system seamlessly integrates with their existing production pipelines and provides extremely short turn-around times.

Sony Pictures Imageworks has deployed Xsens MVN to do on-set performance capture for one of their latest cutting edge film productions.

'Xsens MVN is innovating in exactly the space we are interested in: unencumbered capture that works in any shooting environment.? says Rob Bredow, senior visual effects and creative technology supervisor for Sony Pictures Imageworks.

Insomniac Games is currently developing an unannounced title, exclusively for PS3.

?The flexibility and short turnaround time of the MVN system is unparalleled,? says Ted Price, CEO of Insomniac Games. ?With the MVN system, Xsens is changing the rules of the motion capture game: we?re saving time and money?.
