What is a Mailing List?
A mailing list is something similar to a forum, except that the
posts are sent directly to the inboxes of all the participants'
email accounts. Mailing list membership is often a priviledge. This
leads to a high signal-to-noise ratio, where there is a lot of high-quality
content, for relatively little rubbish. Thus quality mailing lists
are optimal places to meet the leaders of your field, and discuss
with other like-minded individuals, what to do for the future.
