Fog Gradient The fog gradient is a measure sometimes used in virtual environments to hide the back clipping plane from view. Objects next to the viewpoint have a fog gradient of 0, a value of 255 or similar is just in front of the far clipping plane, then values slowly flow incrementally from one to the other.
