Phase Lag

The name given to the time delay between the user's actual location, the update rate of the tracking system, and the processing time in the computer system. These factors combined influence the occurance of a nasty condition called simulator sickness, which occurs when the phase lag between the movement, and the brain's inner ear is too far out of alignment.
