Skydome
A Skydome is usually a pre-rendered backdrop of "infinite-distance" which surrounds an interactive, virtual landscape. A half-sphere, usually pre-rendered sits over the landscape, creating a realistic, immersive feeling of distance, however, it does not extent below ground, limiting the possible shape of the world. it is used to create the illusion of distant three-dimensional surroundings, and its position is fixed so that its centre is always aligned to the camera's location.
