Adaptive Resolution Adaptive resolution is a trick used particularly for large data-sets, in which items that are at a distance, or being scanned over quickly, are rendered in far less detail than those moving slowly/ nearby. It is a smoke and mirrors technique used to shed detail, improving system performance, where it is likely to be noticed the least.
