Alife

Alife is a generic term referring to artificial life, as distinct from artificial intelligence. In other words, the creation of artificial creatures which either meet the criteria for life forms, or the illusion of doing so. A popular branch of Alife work lays in creating the so-called ?lower life forms? to infest a virtual environment, and make it feel like it is teeming with life.
