Auditory Localization

Auditory localization is split into two distinct groups.

1. It is the ability to localise a given sound within the immersive environment, and identify where relative to the sense of self that sound is emanating from. An example of this would be binaural sound.

2.It is the ability to detect through subtle auditory cues that the location of the sense of self within the environment is altering. For example, use of Doppler effect to shift frequencies of sounds as the avatar moves.
