Bounding Sphere A bounding sphere is a mathematical sphere as opposed to polygonal, that encloses a more complex 3D polygonal object, as snugly as is practical without losing the perfect globe. It is used to computationally cheapen collision detection, and so speed up the handling of physics and haptics.
