When interacting physially, you are most aware of your immediate surroundings, and less aware of objects further away. In telepresence that is usually reversed, as the telepresence screen you focus on concentrates itself on objects far away. Is there any way to combat this? Perhaps...
A CAVE-type installation has been installed in India, for use by the mircobiology research and technology centre IMTECH. Virtalis, the manufacturer of the specific CAVE-variant technology used; the ActiveWall system, have been extremely keen to promote this major VR installation. Great news as it is for them, it is of course even better news for the increasing push to see highly immersive VR interfaces made increasingly pervasive in higher learning.
The temperature problem is a major issue for actual prosthetics. Not being at all aware when your arm is on fire, is a very bad - and potentially expensive - possibility for any user of a modern prosthetic, even one tied into the nervous system.

Then spins that on its head and neatly answers those questions with the hard truths those of us who work with them are well aware of.
