De-Buff

A buff is a spell cast on another player or group of players in a MUD or MMO gameworld to temporarily increase their attributes - make them stronger, swifter smarter or tougher just before they enter combat.

A de-buff has the opposite effect, and is typically a spell cast on players in combat to make them weaker, slower, dumber or softer for a short period of time.
