Depth Perception

Depth perception is where the illusion of depth on a flat screen is created. Typically it involves one or more of the following:

* Size: larger objects are perceived as closer than smaller ones
* Texture: larger textures are perceived as closer than smaller ones
* Occlusion: objects that block other objects are perceived as closer
* Focus: sharply defined objects are perceived as closer than blurred ones
* Saturation: high-saturation colours are perceived as closer than low-saturation colours.
