External Light Block External light block refers to the necessity in full VR immersion stereoscopic HMDs to block out all light sources from the physical world, via a flexible mask frame that fills any gaps between the HMD and the user?s head. In this way, their sole source of visual illumination is coming from the virtual environment, and greatly aids belief that they are in that world. The frames alternate polarisation to block light out every second frame, so that each eye gets half the screen update rate of any normal monitor, but will work with a normal output stream just fine. ![]() Proprioception may not be the stumbling block to true immersion we have always considered it to be. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This book demonstrates how bio-inspiration can lead to fully autonomous flying robots without relying on external aids. Most existing aerial robots fly in open skies, far from obstacles, and rely on external beacons ? mainly GPS ? to localise and navigate. However, these robots are not able to fly at low altitude or in confined environments, and yet this poses absolutely no difficulty to insects. Indeed, flying insects display efficient flight control capabilities in complex environments despite their limited weight and relatively tiny brain size. ![]() ![]() Announced just one day after the Nintendo Wii itself, at E3 2006?s second day, the Nintendi Wii light-gun attachment connects directly to the back of the Nintendo Wii-mote immersion controller. Virtual Light is classic Cyberpunk in every sense: it is dark, and gritty, a surreal near-future world that sets you on edge, and both the main characters have sunk as low as it is possible to go, before attempting to change the world for the better. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
