Geographic Information Systems

Geographic Information Systems, or GIS are mapping systems designed to transcribe physical-world data into maps. GIS can be cartological, industrial, geological, population density, climate, anything that is desired, and can be layered together, and integrated with CAD designs and simple virtual world landscapes to provide powerful processing of location data.
