Home Automation

Home Automation, often referred to as Domotics, is a complex system of integrated robotic devices and central management via a computer system or set of integrated computing devices which together turn a home into a smart environment.

A smart home is able to predict its occupants needs via biometrics or behaviometrics. In such a building, the climate may be controlled tto optimal settings for the occupants, the food and drink in the house monitored, or even the contents of the toilet checked for pathogens or chemical imbalance before being flushed.

In fact the range of possibilities for home automation is so wide, that it is hard to pin down. However, it essentially refers to aspects of the home being automated and capable of making decisions without waiting to be told by those who live in the home.
