Latency

Latency is a key concern for any system involving transmission over long distances. Latency is scientifically the time taken for a signal to propagate between two points.

In real terms, this meanbs that it is the measurement of time taken for a packet from the server to reach you, and then to return to the server. The time taken, is the measurement of latency. If latency is too high, it is referred to as Lag.
