Luster
Luster is the degree of shininess in a given surface. In virtual objects it is controlled by the diffuse reflective coefficient, and the specular coefficient. The diffuse reflective coefficient governs how matte the surface it is, or the evenness of its reflectivity. The specular coefficient determines how much light it is to reflect.
Both coefficients take the form of 2D maps layered over the texture on the polygon, and both can only really be applied with raycasting, or raytracing algorithms.
