Monoscopic mode is a computation for rendering mode in which only a single viewpoint factors into the calculations. Traditionally all renders were in monoscopic mode, as monoscopic display systems were used. However, even in the days of stereoscopic displays, in which each eye sees a different angle into the VR, monoscopic mode is still frequently utilised.
