Optogenetics

The field of optogenetics combines genetic trait knowledge with optical, non-invasive probing in order to decode neural circuitry in mammalian brains, in real-time. Currently used mainly to decode processing patterns, the technology is capable of reading brain activity as a non-invasive neuroprosthetic.
