Parallax Distortion Parallax distortion occurs when one or more axis is out of square in taking a panoramic VR photo sequence or screenshot sequence intended to make a complete 360 degree view. When the line if sight is not perfectly aligned with the centre of the lens, or the viewing object is not dead level and straight, parallax distortions begin to build as the viewpoint is rotated. Items in the background begin to distort along one or multiple axis, relative to their positions in the previous shot. When the shots are combined, the distortion leads to artefacts as the two items cannot perfectly superimpose.
