Perspective projection is a method of 3D projection ? flattening a 3D image onto a 2D display screen ? which strives to recreate the vanishing points and perspective shift that objects in the physical world undergo, deforming and shrinking, parallel lines pulling together to denote distance. In the 3D render, prior to 3D projection, this is not occurring, and the objects sit in 3D space, in their correct shapes, as objects normally do in the physical world. The tendency towards a vanishing point, is a perspective trick, as part of perspective projection, to make up for the lack of actual 3D objects.
