Photogrammetry
Photogrammetry is a method of creating 3D models based on stereoscopy. Two or more photos of a physical world object are taken, from different angles, and then compared through machine vision systems to work out where the shadows fall in each image. They are then combined by mapping identical structures over one another, to create a three dimensional representation of the original, to a high degree of fidelity.
