Raycasting

Raycasting is a fundamentally much less processor intensive variant of raytracing. Unlike raytracing, which traces light rays back to source, moving through any partially translucent, totally transparent or reflective objects along the way, raycasting does not take any level of transparency or reflection into account. Raycast worlds have no mirrors, no glass or shiny objects, but otherwise, they have the same benefits as raytracing.
