Shelfware

Shelfware is a type of software, that no developer strives to create. It is the monkier given to any software system that does not take into account the normal work flow or interaction processes of the target user base. It fulfils all the needs of those it was designed to work for, but does not integrate with existing programs or processes already in place.

As a result, people in the target market tend not to use the system, which results in less content or lower information quality for those who do make use of the system, which discourages them from using it further, and so on.

In the end, shelfware is so called, because eventually it sits on the shelf and is never touched again.
