Technological Singularity

A technological singularity is a philosophical hinge point in future society. It was born as a concept out of the doubling accelerating pace of technological change. Not only is the speed of progress doubling when checked against discrete points, initially one year apart, but the amount of time between such points is decreasing at an increasing rate.

The singularity is denoted as the point at which all the rules change. The speed of technological progression is so fast that it forces a paradigm change in the way civilisation itself is understood. A singularity is expected some time between 2030 and 2040, at current rates of progression.

This book is his theory on Accelerating Intelligence made flesh and a warning for the monumental acceleration of technological change in the years to come.
