Vertical Field of View

The vertical field of view of a VR visual interface determines the angle of immersion for vertical eye movement. When looking upwards does the user see display or blank surface? What about downwards? A greater angle of display increases immersion by engaging peripheral vision into the virtual environment, but you pay for it in terms of hardware cost and weight.
