Virtual Learning Environment Virtual Learning Environments or VLEs are online environments, often virtual worlds, that are geared towards the purpose of instructing groups of people in a given topic. Traditionally they work on a hierarchical system, with one user - the teacher - having limited degrees of control over the actions of other users - the students.
