BFC Back-Face Culling or BFC is a standard approach taken by 3D rendering engines, to help remove unnecessary items from the render view. Essentially, as the name implies, it is the removal of all polygonal faces or rendering triangles which face away from the viewpoint. I.e., all parts of a given object that are occluded from the viewer by other parts of the same object, as they are on the ?back? relative to the observer.
