Biocybernetics
Biocybernetics is the combination of cybernetics and the study of controlling or governing systems, with biological entities.
In other words, it is the study of how biological entities are governed, tending to look at neurological, chemical, and social stimuli that contribute to an understanding of how biological systems function both at the whole organism, and individual process levels.
Biocybernetics relates to bionics and prosthetics fields in that you can't really design a mechanical substitute part, or augmentation hardware unless you really understand how the original part functions, and why it functions as it does.
