Biomechatronic
Biomechatronic refers to the holistic attempt to integrate mechanics, electronics and flesh into a single system. Biomechatronic devices are typically, although not always, a melding of living organism and technological device for purposed of prosthetic replacement or augmentation of existing function.
An alternate use of biomechatronics is to graft living cells onto an existing technological structure. For example, attaching neural cells to a robot to serve as the control processor.
