The coplanar technique is a method of generating 3D models from two or three sets of 2D drawings. It is frequently used in CAD rendering, where the front, and top of an object are shown to scale, along with maybe the side, then these are combined and filled in as a 3D structure.

Technology Review's long, and in depth look at the rise of diffusion spectrum imaging, and how this new neural interface imaging technique is rapidly accelerating the study of both human and animal brains to an extent unparalleled by any previous imaging technique, even fMRI.
Tracking people's every move using buildings packed with motion sensors is more effective than CCTV, and less invasive to privacy, say researchers who tried the technique on their own colleagues.
A new tack in neuroprosthetic interfaces is being born out of pulses of light rather than electricity. Termed 'optogenetic neuromodulation, the technique is being pioneered in the hope that it will enable a far greater level of accuracy and single-cell stimulation than is possible with electrode interfaces.
A digital signal processing technique long used by statisticians to analyse data, is being applied to the brain in a novel endeavour by researchers from Rice University, to understand the roots of memory and learning, along with diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's and stroke.
An introduction to the uses of linked lists, for creating, manipulating, and destroying large numbers of objects at any one time. A very good technique to know for large worlds, or complex situations.
Diffusion spectrum imaging is a new technique at time of writing, which allows magnetic resonance brain imaging, at a much higher level of fidelity than fMRI permits.
H.D.R., or high dynamic range photography is a relatively new technique used by photographers to take high-quality full lighting range photos that are near-indistinguishable from paintings, for their ability to correctly replicate the lighting of a given scene, exactly how the human eye would see it.
