Deep Learning Software

Deep Learning Software is an extension of machine learning. Typically in machine learning, a neural network is constructed to allow the artificial intelligence to work out what an input shape is according to certain parameters,. Or to form its own weighted tree of potential patterns. Relatively simplistic data stores give rise to incredibly complex datastores generated by the machine itself, as it increasingly becomes an expert on the narrow field it was engineered to understand.

Deep learning on the other hand, is rather different. This is the method the mammalian brain uses to try to understand the world around it, from confusing and occasionally contradictory information coming in through the embodiment and sensory channels. No set parameters as such, but rather a wide open scope for the mind to unravel the meaning of the data pouring in and learn about and interact with the wider world.

This is exactly what happens in the human brain. Deep learning software is thus attempting the herculean task of reverse engineering that process or processes, so that the artificial intelligence can learn and experience the world in such a manner. No constraints on learning, save those the artificial intelligence puts in place itself. A truly sentient, associative memory system capable in theory, of learning without end, without a necessary structure or format to its learning.

As such a successful set of deep learning software will be part and parcel of a strong AI.

Muds as Social Learning Environments
A ten year old article talking about the potential for virtual environments for learning, long before serious games even came along.

Video games have become both big business and a technological focal point for new forms of learning. Today games are not just played; players engage in game design, write fan fiction, and organise themselves into collaborative learning communities. In these communities players acquire 21st century skills in technology, but, in the best of these communities, they hone these technical skills and strengthen emotional and social intelligence.
