An electrophoretic display is a display technology such as e-paper, which makes use of electrophoresis, to function. Particles dispersed in a thin fluid, are subject to a precise electrical charge. When exposed, they change from one state, to another. In the case of e-paper, they change from black to white, and back again. This type of display only uses electricity, or any energy, when the display updates.
