Electrotactile Electrotactile is the stimulation of the body?s tactile nerve endings, by means of electrodes. This same technique can be used to stimulate optic, hearing, or olfactory senses, but is predominately used for touch stimulation. Frequently of the hand or wrist, there is no technical reason why electrotactile stimulation cannot be applied to the whole body.
