Light Mapping Light mapping is a form of multiple texture texturemapping in which the brightness values calculated from exposure to nearby dynamic lighting, is calculated on a frame by frame basis, and inserted as an additional texture layer onto an object. This gives the illusion that the object is lit by a given lightsource, without having to calculate exactly which parts of it are lit.
