NAVA
NAVA stands for Neurally Adjusted Ventilatory Assist, and was developed as the first of a new direction for thought controlled interfaces. NAVA was designed to read vagus nerve stimulation of the diaphragm, and use that directly to control how much ventilation to supply a bed bound patient.
Essentially the first stage in a brain-based life support monitoring system.
