NPR

Non-photorealistic rendering or NPR is an augmented reality term used to describe a technique for blending virtual and physical data together, without accounting for physical lighting and shadowing problems. To avoid uncanny valley issues when light and shadow don?t follow for the virtual object, the NPR approach is to make the virtual objects look a little bit cartoonish and unreal, explaining away the differences, whilst preserving the physical interaction.
