Pen-Based Interface Pen based interfaces are those in which a stylus or other thin pointing device are used instead of a keyboard or a mouse. Pen-like devices allow allows fluid handwriting, gestures, and sketching that are difficult with many other input devices. They may be used intermixed with other devices in an immersive environment, to allow the user to switch swiftly between different interface paradigms.
