Site Shop > OpenGL Reference Manual: The Official Reference Document to OpenGL, Version 1.4 (4th Edition): Printed Version

The official reference manual for OpenGL, in printed format, for reading away from the PC, or during a reboot.

Outside of the Windows operating environment, Open Graphics Library, is industry standard for developing 2D and 3D applications.

The reference guide, also available as html files online.

The guide is written for thoee who can program in C, and, unlike the programming guide, starts out by showing you exactly and precisely what OpenGL can and cannot do.

Liberal coding examples abound, and the whole book is geared to getting you up to speed quickly, but assumes prior knowledge of coding. It will not hand hold there. So, if you lack experience in C or graphics programming, give it a miss.

If you have some familiarity with these concepts, the book does not waffle, and will cover every aspect of OpenGL in as much detail as possible, geared for easy reading and high comprehension.

Filled with the expertise of those who standardised OpenGL, there is no better reference volume for learning and understanding this system. The examples cited are clear, commented, and explained.
