OVERVIEW

Digital Human Models have become an essential part of the design and development processes in many industries. As more organizations use this technology it must change to meet the expanding needs of the industry. Through the cooperation of industry, government, and the research community, Digital Human Models are evolving to meet these needs.

Once used only for shape and size, digital human models are now used in the design and production of automobiles, aircraft, spacecraft, and even as perfect fit models of clothing for the fashion industry. In the medical world they are used to replicate human joints for replacement, muscle movement, sensitivity to temperature and comfort, along with many ergonomic and anthropometric applications.
