Certification testing for 100Mbps cable modems begins
This story is from the category Connectivity
Date posted: 23/11/2007
CableLabs has begun testing the first set of DOCSIS 3.0 gear, as five companies have submitted cable modems to the organisation for official approval.
The standard replaces DOCSIS 1.1 as the industry standard. DOCSIS 2.0 never left the lab. The new standard, which should be available late 2008, promises home internet connection limits of up to 160Mbps and uploads of up to 120Mbps.
