Date posted: 24/01/2009 IBM and EZFace, Inc. have started the year by introducing the Virtual Mirror Kiosk, a virtual reality tool that will allow consumers to ?try on? cosmetics at the beauty counter. With the tool, customers will be able to snap a digital self-portrait using the kiosk?s camera, scan the barcode of the product they?ve chosen and virtually apply it to hair, face, eyes or lips for approval. It will also suggest products that work with customers? skin tones and features. ?We built EZface Virtual Mirror Kiosk to help consumers look their best before they commit to a purchase," said Rami Orpaz, CEO and founder, EZface, Inc. "We know beauty customers are busy, and cosmetics retailers want to find personal yet discreet ways to connect with people on the go. [EZface Virtual Mirror Kiosk is] a fun, fast and remorse-free way to shop.? EZface embedded the Virtual Mirror Application into IBM?s AnyPlace In-Store Kiosk.
