 First Inmarsat-4 satellite ready for launch

nmarsat 4, the first in a new line of global area broadband network satellites is ready to be launched on March 10th.

The satellite will cover Europe, northern Africa, and the Middle East, it is designed to work with mobiles and wireless computers to provide 1Mbit broadband anywhere within the coverage area,

A second satellite is planned for launch in summer 2005 to cover South America, most of North America, the Atlantic Ocean and part of the Pacific Ocean.
