Tron Plot Basics

The film's plot is a relatively simple hero's journey. Kevin Flynn is a talented computer programmer still in his 20s. He once worked for the mega-corporation ENCOM (similar to Microsoft, in type). On his own time, after hours, Flynn created several video games on the ENCOM mainframe. Before he was ready to present his projects to senior management, his work was stolen by another programmer, Ed Dillinger.

Dillinger was not as smart, not as talented, but he was sneaky, and prepared to do whatever it took to advance. Flynn?s completed, addictive games, earns Dillinger a meteoric career progression, finally ending up as senior vice president. Flynn meanwhile, is fired, on Dillinger?s authorisation.
