Elsewhere, Flynn?s ex-girlfriend, Dr. Lora Baines, working with her team, have made a breakthrough, the digitisation and re-physification of living matter. Their subject, was an orange. They scanned it, broke it down, molecule by molecule, transferred it into a 3D computer image, then used that image, to recreate the physical orange, molecule by molecule.

When Flynn discovers his access code no-longer works, he convinces Lora to sneak him into the laser lab, where their access direct into the mainframe, is both higher priority, and bypasses the security he has been fighting against.

Flynn settles down at Lora's lab terminal, opposite the de-integrator. He begins to peek inside MCP?s memory. Having had enough, MCP decides to bring Flynn down to his level, and activates the de-integrator, breaking Flynn?s body apart piece by piece, and transferring his consciousness into cyberspace.
