Spoken Dialogue Technology: Toward the Conversational User Interface
Spoken Dialogue Technology attempts to provide an exhaustive coverage of spoken dialogue systems. Based on the author?s earlier 80 page paper on the same subject, this book fleshes things out, whist still maintaining a fairly academic presentation style. This is not a book concerned overly with the primary voice interface development system ? VoiceXML. Whilst VoiceXML is covered, the book is more interested in general development concepts and alternative ways to input voice control strategies. The book covers research in spoken dialogue systems, with an extensive coverage of the most relevant theoretical issues as well as a critical evaluation of current research prototypes. CD contains: Supplementary materials, code, links to further resources.
