Action Potential The action potential is a measurement of the transmembrane voltage across a neuron or muscle cell. It is used to judge the size of the action or muscle movement (or strength of the thought) before it actually transpires, so that an action may be taken by the computer system that is in perfect sync with the action itself. Also called biopotential. Below, we offer a selection of links from our resource databases which may match this term.
