Resource List: Everything Matrix
 The Matrix is one of the most prominent mainstream adaptations of VR. Not necessarily the best, not by a long shot, it is still the one most mainstream individuals bring to mind when VR is mentioned. In this list, we strive to index all Matrix-related resources held upon this site, in order to aid your search for like material.
The Matrix
 This is the film which started it all. The original Matrix, with Neo, Trinity and Morpheus out to save the worlds, both the dreamworld of the virtual reality control system known as the Matrix, and the desert of the real world, with Zion as the last human city.This is the film that re-introduced VR to popular culture, overshadowing other releases such as The Thirteenth Floor, which came out the same year.
The Animatrix
 The Animatrix is a collection of nine short animations, a mix of CG and hand drawn animation, starting with this one, and moving through eight others, each with a unique point of view. Some are deeply philosophical , some wax poetic. All are filled with information on VR, on what it could and can quite easily be, beyond the matrix series itself.
Matrix Reloaded
 The second of the two films, this one picks up right after the events of Final Flight of the Osiris in the Animatrix, and chronicles the evolving story of the structure of the Matrix, Neo's purpose, and the fight for the very survival of Zion itself.
Matrix Revolutions
 The third and final main film of the Matrix, Revolutions, is essentially the second part of the second film, wrapping up the story of the invasion of Zion, the invasion inside the Matrix by what used to be agent Smith, now a self-replicating virus, and the treaty between Neo and the machine God.
The Matrix and Philosophy: Welcome to the Desert of the Real
 An introduction to philosophy book, third in the ?Popular Culture and Philosophy? series, The Matrix and Philosophy is a collection of essays that mediate on the nature of existence, using the film The Matrix, and the simulation of total reality as a frame of reference.
More Matrix and Philosophy: Revolutions and Reloaded Decoded
 The sequel to ?The Matrix and Philosophy: Welcome to the Desert of the Real?, this book continues the work of the first, by mediating on the nature of existence, using the film The Matrix, and the simulation of total reality as a frame of reference.
Matrix Revisited
 This disc is not one of the film disks, but it is a 163 minute long documentary covering the concept of the Matrix, the making of the films, and the impact it had on everyone involved in a project of this size and scope. Definitely a worth watch for anyone.
Animatrix: Final Flight of the Osiris
Final Flight of the Osiris is the first of the Animatrix animations, and is canon for the films: Its events are directly referenced in the second and third films. In part it becomes the basis for those films. So, of all the Animatrix films, this can be considered the most important from a continuity point of view.
